WHS Proposal Request / Data Request

Please complete the Manuscript/Project Proposal Request Form, which should be no more than 2-3 pages. The proposal request form is also available on the Forms page. The proposal request should include a concise summary of the research hypothesis and the proposed study design. The proposal must identify the institution and/or affiliation of the researcher. Requests are reviewed upon receipt and researchers will be notified within one month of the review results.

The proposed research will be evaluated based on the potential overlap with other ongoing studies, methodological soundness, and scientific validity and importance. Priority will be given to projects that advance the overarching aims of the WHS. Investigators need to provide financial support to conduct their proposed project.

Studies that involve the use of biological specimens will require additional justification and review due to the limited supply of biological materials available. Information on sample volume, validation of proposed assays, and statistical power estimates are required. Additional costs will be involved to retrieve the requested specimens.

Once the proposal has been approved, researchers should submit a Data Request Form. The data request form is also available on the Forms page. Requests for existing data should specify the variables requested from each questionnaire. Investigators should make requests for only those variables that are pertinent to the research question proposed. No identifying information on individual participants will be provided.
